About Us
Gatekeeper Systems was founded in 1992 to develop Internet-based application software. Our core business is developing applications that deploy GIS and asset information in conjunction with critical business operations data. We use an application framework called NaviGate to build map-based corporate data viewers for office and mobile users. In addition, numerous fully-integrated off-the-shelf application solutions can be added as options to the NaviGate framework to satisfy a multitude of specific business needs.
Gatekeeper Systems serves a variety of customers including gas and electric utilities, as well as state and local governments. We apply a data-centric approach to NaviGate applications and all installations. By focusing on the data that is to be implemented, we are able to efficiently configure the applications to conform to specific utility business processes.

Gatekeeper Staff
The founders of Gatekeeper Systems are longtime software product developers and database designers. Our team is comprised of software professionals with long and varied backgrounds in large-scale systems development with a focus on spatially-oriented mobile, database, and related business applications. Our staff includes engineers, developers of computer languages and compilers, and experts in the design of web-enabled spatial database solutions.

Databases
We bring extensive expertise in building and using large relational databases. Virtually all of Gatekeeper Systems' projects involve very large relational databases. We regularly work with a variety of database engines, including Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, and a number of less well-known engines.
Software Development
The Gatekeeper team includes software engineers with many years of complex software development experience. We have built web applications, phone applications, compilers, languages, database engines, parsers, GIS projection engines, map viewers, and many other specialized and general-purpose software components. We are experienced in using and developing software for Microsoft Windows, Unix, and mobile operating systems.
Gatekeeper Systems staff members also have broad knowledge of GIS, CAD and facilities mapping systems, particularly with applications and business practices dealing with municipal infrastructure and utility companies.
Utility Operation and Design
Gatekeeper offers broad understanding of the business and operation of distribution utilities including the challenges our customers face in dealing with water networks, electric networks, natural gas distribution systems, and wastewater utilities. Importantly for this market, we also offer deep expertise in the design and deployment of modern mobile-based systems and related field applications.
